Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Bokoli Subcounty Hospital
Bokoli Sub-County Hospital, Sikata - Kimilili Rd, Bokoli
Background
Martin is a 1 y.o. old baby whose mother is a housewife and the father is a boda-boda rider. Mother reports that the child has been unwell for the past days. The child has previously been treated for acute malnutrition. They are 3 in the household, that is Martin and his parents. Martin’s father did not complete primary school and the mother also did not complete primary school education. Their house has mud walls and an iron sheet roof; the roof is rusted and leaking. They buy water from the market place and at times do not have money that is even enough to buy a jerrican of water for household use. Admission date - 17. May 2023.
Medical history
Martin came to the hospital with cough and difficulty in breathing and was confirmed to be suffering from pneumonia which was managed; in the process of physical assessment, nutritional assessment was also done and the child was diagnosed with moderate malnutrition and treated for the same. Martin's parent wanted to say a big thank you to Helpster Charity because they helped treat their child without asking for any money. They are very grateful and hope that Helpster Charity can help other children who need it. They wish blessings on Helpster Charity for their kindness.
Prognosis
The patient was presented to our facility with cough and difficulty in breathing, high temperature and diagnosed with Acute Pneumonia, anaemia, moderate malnutrition. If left untreated, the child can come to a life-threatening condition due to complications with malnutrition and anaemia.
