Background

Debby, a four-year-old girl, is described as jovial and playful. She enjoys activities like playing skipping rope, hide and seek, and drawing pictures. Her favorite foods include milk and chapati, and she dreams of becoming a doctor in the future. Recently, Debby was brought to the hospital with complaints of fever, loss of appetite, and vomiting after oral intake. Despite previous treatment at a nearby hospital, her condition did not improve; the fever persisted, and she continued to deteriorate.

Medical history

Debby was brought into the hospital with complaints of high fevers, loss of hapetite an vomiting everything. According to Peter akongo Debby has been treated with the symptoms in government dispensary but the condition keep on worsening for the last two days, When they Heard of Helpster Charity from a friend, they came to God's favour hospital to beg Helpster Charity to help them raise funds to pay her daughter's medical treatment. On examination, Debby was sick looking, dehydrated and with high fevers that's why she is admitted for closest monitoring the temperature drop, rehydrated and intravenous infusion, In the ward the child show tremendous improvement and increase hapetite, After two days, in the ward Debby was stable and was discharged to complete oral medication at home and was given health talk advice on malaria prevention.

Prognosis

Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences. The widespread inflammation and organ damage caused by septicemia can result in dysfunction or failure of multiple organs, such as the lungs, kidneys, liver, and heart, if not treated. Broad-spectrum antibiotics are administered intravenously as soon as possible to fight the infection causing the septicemia.
