Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pathology

An inguinal hernia is a condition in which a portion of the intestine or abdominal tissue protrudes through a weakened or torn area in the lower abdominal wall, typically in the groin area. A person with an inguinal hernia typically experiences a noticeable bulge or lump in the groin area. This bulge can be painful or uncomfortable, especially when lifting, coughing, or straining. Some individuals might also feel aching or burning sensations around the hernia. In certain cases, the hernia can lead to symptoms like groin pain, a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen, and discomfort.

Background

Mohd is an eight-year-old boy from a financially disadvantaged background, the son of a vulcanizer who earns a monthly income below the minimum wage. He is a cheerful and sociable child who enjoys playing football with his friends. Mohd dreams of achieving wealth to lift his family out of poverty. Two years ago, Mohd's health took a turn when he noticed a scrotal swelling that did not diminish. Over the following months, the swelling increased in size, prompting him to inform his parents. They took him to a government facility for diagnosis, but their financial limitations prevented them from covering the cost of treatment, forcing them to return home. Recently, they learned about Helpster Charity through their religious leader in their slum and brought Mohd to UMD clinic for treatment. After examination and investigation, he was diagnosed with Inguinal Hernia. Surgery is required to rectify the defect and improve his quality of life.

Medical history

Mohd is an 8-year-old boy who was diagnosed with Hernia. He was admitted and prepared for surgery. Surgery was done successfully and there were no complications. The child felt much better and was discharged home with the parents. They were happy and grateful to Helpster for the free surgery.

Prognosis

If left untreated, inguinal hernias can lead to complications such as bowel obstruction, strangulation (where blood supply to the herniated tissue is cut off), and significant pain or discomfort. Surgery is the most common treatment for inguinal hernias to repair the weakened area and prevent these potential complications.
