Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Hannatu is a 14 y.o. girl, a secondary school student living with her grandmother in Maiduguri. She likes conversing with her friends, siblings, reading and travelling. She is staying with her grandmother in a 3-room house. Her grandmother does not have any source of income. She relies solely on her neighbour or go out begging. Admission date - 15. May 2023. Treatment date - 15. May 2023. Discharge date - 16. May 2023.
Medical history
Hannatu was presented to the hospital with fever, headache, generalised body weakness and loss of appetite. She was admitted on 5th may,2023, placed on preliminary investigations and diagnosed with Acute Malaria with Enteric fever. She was placed on antibiotics, antimalarial medications, multivitamins and antipyretics, and discharged on 20th May,2023.
Prognosis
The patient was presented to our facility with body pain, fever, vomiting, fatigue and a headache. The child was diagnosed with Acute Malaria and Typhoid Fever. If not treated, it may soon lead to lung damage, dehydration, and kidney failure.
