Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About gynecology

Fetal distress is a condition where the oxygen supply to the fetus is compromised, and the frequency of its heart contractions increases. This can occur due to problems with the placenta, impaired blood circulation, and either too little or too much amniotic fluid.

Narayanganj Poly Clinic and General Hospital Bangladesh

Background

Sohagi comes from the Narayanganj slums, faces considerable challenges in her family. Her father, Mohammad, serves as the sole breadwinner, employed as a garments worker, while her mother, Monoara, fulfills her role as a homemaker. Thirty-seven weeks ago, Sohagi's pregnancy journey commenced, marred by tension and anxiety due to its complications. She endured respiratory tract infections, acute gastroenteritis, and urinary tract infections throughout her pregnancy. At the completion of thirty-seven weeks, Sohagi began experiencing severe abdominal pain and chest tightness. Despite seeking help at a nearby government hospital, the lack of attending doctors thwarted their efforts. With a ray of hope, Sohagi discovered Narayanganj Polyclinic through another patient who received successful treatment with their Helpster assistance. Now, Sohagi passionately appeals to Helpster Charity Donors, pleading for support to ensure the safety of herself and her unborn child.

Medical history

Sohagi was 37 weeks pregnant when she suddenly complained of severe abdominal pain, which she thought might be labor. However, the pain was not progressing, and she also noted reduced fetal movement. Sohagi was admitted to Narayanganj Polyclinic, where a trial for normal delivery was attempted. Unfortunately, as the pain wasn’t increasing as expected, an emergency cesarean section became necessary. The cesarean was successfully performed under spinal anesthesia, resulting in the delivery of a healthy baby. After the operation, Sohagi received conservative treatment. Thankfully, she is now doing well and back to her normal life, smiling brightly. A huge thank you to the Helpster Heroes and the Narayanganj Polyclinic Team!

Prognosis

A Cesarean section is necessary to prevent potential life-threatening complications for both the mother and the baby. This method allows for a quick and effective improvement in the baby's oxygen supply, ensuring its safe delivery. Additionally, due to the patient's significantly low hemoglobin level, a blood transfusion is required.
