Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About gynecology
Fetal distress occurs when the fetus shows signs of not getting enough oxygen during labor or delivery. A Caesarean section may be necessary in cases of fetal distress to quickly deliver the baby and reduce the risk of complications.

Background
Sumaiya finds joy in living with her husband, mother, and three children, while her husband works as a print worker. At 37 weeks pregnant, Sumaiya is under significant stress and anxiety due to their financial struggles. Adding to her challenges, she is also experiencing abdominal pain. Seeking help, the family turned to a nearby government hospital but faced a shortage of doctors and were unable to undergo emergency surgery. Fortunately, they learned about Helpster Charity and Narayanganj Polyclinic from another patient who had received assistance from Helpster Charity.
Medical history
Sumaiya, in her 37th week of pregnancy, suddenly experienced severe abdominal pain that indicated labor, accompanied by concerning per vaginal discharge. Having had one normal vaginal delivery and two previous cesarean sections, she felt a mix of fear and hope as she was admitted to Narayanganj Polyclinic. Although a trial for normal delivery was attempted, the circumstances necessitated an emergency cesarean section, skillfully performed under spinal anesthesia. When she finally heard her baby girl’s first cries, a wave of relief and joy swept over her. Following the operation, Sumaiya received compassionate care, guiding her toward recovery. Now, she is thriving and embracing her role as a mother with a radiant smile, her heart full of gratitude for the team that helped bring her daughter into the world.
Prognosis
In cases of fetal distress, timely intervention, often including a Caesarean section, is crucial to ensure the safety and health of both the baby and the mother. Without such intervention, the risks of severe and potentially life-threatening complications increase significantly. Prolonged labor can exacerbate fetal distress, and cause such complications as organ damage in the baby due to the lack of oxygen, stillbirth, and the risk of infection. In cases of severe distress where contractions are strong and prolonged, the mother's uterus may rupture, leading to severe blood loss and risk to both mother and baby.
