Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pulmonology
Pneumonia develops when the defensive mechanisms within the lung become overwhelmed by a pathogen which has been either inhaled or aspirated. It is associated with a high mortality rate and significant morbidity. Severe pneumonia is frequently a multisystem disease and patients will often present with multiple organ failure.

Background
Mohammad is a 6-month-old boy from Narayanganj slums. His father, Mohammad, is the only earning member in his family. He is a garments worker. Mohammad's mother, Nodi, is a housewife. For the last few days Mohammad has been suffering from cough and cold, severe respiratory distress. Mohammad was reluctant to eat. The local hospital couldn't help them much as there were no proper medicines. Mohammad's father came across a poster in their slums and called Dr.Munna from Narayanganj Polyclinic. That is how the family got to know about Helpster Program.
Medical history
Mohammad, a 6-month-old baby, was suffering from severe pneumonia. Despite multiple rounds of antibiotics from local pharmacies and a government hospital, his condition did not improve, leading to a desperate need for emergency hospitalization. Upon arrival at Narayanganj Polyclinic, he received critical treatments, including oxygen therapy, nebulization with sulbutamol, ipratropium bromide, budesonide, injectable antibiotics, and hydrocortisone due to the seriousness of his condition. The medical team worked tirelessly, and after what felt like an eternity, the turning point came. Now, with tears of joy in their eyes, his parents exclaimed, “We thought we would lose him, but the help of Helpster Charity and the amazing team at Narayanganj Polyclinic saved our son!” Little Mohammad is now back home, healthy and smiling, his laughter filling their hearts with immense gratitude and relief. "Thank you for giving us our baby back!" they said, overwhelmed with joy.
Prognosis
Pneumonia should be treated with antibiotics. If left untreated, pneumonia may lead to the permanent lung damage, respiratory failure, septicaemia (infection entering blood stream and causing sepsis), pleural effusion (accumulation of fluid in the space between the lung and chest wall, which can make breathing difficult), and other life-threatening complications.
