Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pathology
An inguinal hernia is a condition in which a portion of the intestine or abdominal tissue protrudes through a weakened or torn area in the lower abdominal wall, typically in the groin area. A person with an inguinal hernia typically experiences a noticeable bulge or lump in the groin area. This bulge can be painful or uncomfortable, especially when lifting, coughing, or straining. Some individuals might also feel aching or burning sensations around the hernia. In certain cases, the hernia can lead to symptoms like groin pain, a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen, and discomfort.

Background
Tamim is an 18-month-old boy living with his parents, primarily cared for by his grandmother. His father, a 17-year-old, does not have stable employment, and his grandfather, a farmer, is the sole breadwinner in their very poor family. Tamim is usually cheerful but is currently suffering from pain due to a swelling in his groin. The nearby government hospital is overcrowded and faces shortages of medications and doctors. After learning about RUDO Hospital and Helpster Charity from their neighbors, Tamim's family sought help there. Tamim's condition requires proper medical evaluation and treatment, which he is more likely to receive at RUDO Hospital with the assistance of Helpster Charity. This support is crucial for ensuring that he gets the necessary care to alleviate his pain and address the underlying cause of his groin swelling.
Medical history
Tamim has been suffering from swelling and severe pain in the right side of his groin since he was just three months old, causing him to cry continuously. After thorough evaluation, a team of skilled pediatric surgeons performed surgery under general anesthesia to repair the weak or torn muscle. The operation lasted 55 minutes and was a success, with no complications during or after the procedure. Although Tamim is currently experiencing some pain, he is on the path to recovery and will need four to six weeks of regular medication before he can return to his normal life. Both Tamim and his parents are incredibly grateful to the Helpster donors and RUDO Hospital for their support, which made this life-changing treatment possible. Their kindness has given Tamim a chance at a healthier, happier future.
Prognosis
If left untreated, inguinal hernias can lead to complications such as bowel obstruction, strangulation (where blood supply to the herniated tissue is cut off), and significant pain or discomfort. Surgery is the most common treatment for inguinal hernias to repair the weakened area and prevent these potential complications.
