Rabeya is a 6-year-old girl living with her parents and two sisters. Her father, Mohammad, supports the family as the sole breadwinner, working at a garment factory. Rabeya is an active and inquisitive child who enjoys playing with her friends. Suddenly, Rabeya started experiencing a cough, cold, and respiratory distress. Rabeya was diagnosed with pneumonia and acute gastroenteritis, which caused severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and fever, leading to dehydration and respiratory difficulty. Upon her admission to Narayanganj Poly Clinic, she received prompt treatment with injectable antibiotics, fluids, Cholera saline, paracetamol, oral zinc, probiotics, and nebulization therapy. Gradually, her health improved, and the once-weak girl began to regain her strength and spirit. Pneumonia should be treated with antibiotics. Gastroenteritis can cause significant loss of fluids and electrolytes through vomiting and diarrhea. Without proper treatment, dehydration can become severe and require urgent medical attention.
