Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About pulmonology

Pneumonia develops when the defensive mechanisms within the lung become overwhelmed by a pathogen which has been either inhaled or aspirated. It is associated with a high mortality rate and significant morbidity. Severe pneumonia is frequently a multisystem disease and patients will often present with multiple organ failure.

Background

Onesmus lives with his parents and grandparents in the suburbs of town. He has cerebral palsy and enjoys watching cartoons and molding bicycle toys. Onesmus loves eating chapati and drinking yogurt and dreams of becoming a mechanic in the future. Three days ago, he started experiencing chest pains, dyspnea (difficulty breathing), wheezing, and a fever. He informed his father about his symptoms, but his father lacked the funds to take him to the hospital and hoped the symptoms would subside on their own. While searching for money to take his son to the hospital, Onesmus' father heard about Helpster Charity. Concerned about the worsening symptoms, Onesmus' grandmother brought him to the hospital. His condition requires immediate medical evaluation to determine the cause of his respiratory issues and provide appropriate treatment. Access to healthcare through Helpster Charity will ensure that Onesmus receives the necessary care and support.

Medical history

In the hospital Onesmus was diagnosed with pneumonia which is a life threatening condition, he was given first aid drugs to restore his breathing and observed for two hours in the hospital and was discharged to continue with other drugs at home. His parents were very happy and much thankful to Helpster Charity for saving their son.

Prognosis

Pneumonia should be treated with antibiotics. If left untreated, pneumonia may lead to the permanent lung damage, respiratory failure, septicaemia (infection entering blood stream and causing sepsis), pleural effusion (accumulation of fluid in the space between the lung and chest wall, which can make breathing difficult), and other life-threatening complications.
