Background

Moh’d is a one year old internally displaced person (IDP) living with his family in Maiduguri. Moh’d is very active and likes playing with toys. He has being sick for quite long with huge umbilical hernia. His parents are very poor as they depend largely on humanitarian organisations support in all ramifications. Admission date - 31. May 2023.

Medical history

Admitted on the 31st of May 2023 and treated for umbilical hernia. The surgery was successful, and the child was discharged home.

Prognosis

The patient was presented to U.M.D Medical Clinic with pain, vomiting and umbilical bulge, and was diagnosed with Umbilical Hernia. If not treated, the symptom will persist, leading to dehydration, possible kidney failure, and necrosis (tissue death.)
