He presented with a history of recurrent fever of about 2 months,general body swelling of about one month,refusal to eat and cough of about 2 weeks Fever was high grade intermittent associated with general body weakness and palor,no convulsion no neck stiffness no ear or eye symptoms but however there is geneal body swelling and palor, he is not a known SCA Pt no bleeding in any orifes,there is cough and difficulty in breathing,there is poor nutritional history,their food is solely carbohydrate base on examination the patient was pale dyspneac and tachypnoec,with anasarca, mildly cynosed,not dehydrated with sinificant adenopathy he was diagnosed with severe anaemia due to malaria in a child with background malnutrition,The malaria parasite causes the destruction of the red blood cells which lead to the anaemia so also in this patient there is a background malnutrition which is also another factor for the anaemia

Background
A 2-year-old boy is living with his parent at Abari ward, Damaturu. Presently, the boy can work and run, having reached the normal developmental milestones for his age. Adamu was apparently well until 2 days ago when she stated having a fever and generalized body weakness. On presentation at our facility, he was examined, investigated, and diagnosed with Sickle Cell anemia with severe malaria with prostration. The child requires urgent medical care upon Helspter's approval.
Medical history
Mai was admitted as a case of severe anemia and malaria. Received full treatment of IV Artesunate and then started oral antimalarials and other drugs. Due to the severe anemia, blood transfusion with packed cells was done. Mai mala has received the full treatment course and respond very well to the treatment.
Prognosis
this patient need admission should be treated properly with injectable anti malaria and also blood transfussion.The prognosis is good if the patient receive adequate care and adequate nutrition If this child is left untreated he will develop many complications which include cerebral malaria that will lead to permanent brain damage.it may also lead to anaemic head failure and subsiquently the patient may give up
