Hyelazira is a 12 year old daughter living with her mother at Old GRA. Hyeladzira attends NAMU school and in the evening goes to extra lesson class. She aspires to be a doctor and help the community. In her spare time, she helps her mother in the kitchen and wash her younger ones clothes. She complained to her mother of fever and headache. She also lost appetite and feels body pain frequently. Thinking it was stress related, the mother only hoped she will get better. Days gone by, Hyeladzira's sickness persisted until she was brought to Nakowa for help from Helpster Charity. The child was examined, investigated and diagnosed with Malaria, Enteric Fever, and Gastroenteritis. Needs urgent treatment upon Helpster's approval.

Hyeladzira Musa was brought to Nakowa Specialists Hospital, Maiduguri, on 16/05/2024 with complaints of persistent fever, weakness, abdominal discomfort, and gastrointestinal symptoms. Following proper clinical assessment and laboratory investigations, she was diagnosed with Malaria with Enteric (Typhoid) Fever and Gastroenteritis. She was promptly commenced on appropriate medical treatment. Antimalarial therapy with Artemether was administered to treat malaria, while Ciprofloxacin was prescribed to manage the enteric infection. Paracetamol was given for fever and pain relief, and Albendazole was administered as part of gastrointestinal management. Injectable medications, including intramuscular Artemether and Paracetamol, were given at presentation to stabilize her condition. Laboratory investigations such as Malaria Parasite (MP), PCV, and Widal test were carried out to confirm the diagnoses and guide effective treatment. Hyeladzira responded positively to treatment, with gradual resolution of fever, improvement in gastrointestinal symptoms, restoration of appetite, and recovery of strength. She was closely monitored throughout her care and showed steady clinical improvement. On follow-up assessment, she was found to be clinically stable and in good health, having made a full recovery. The parents of Hyeladzira Musa sincerely express their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity for their compassion and generosity in paying all her medical bills. This timely intervention relieved the family of financial burden and ensured that their child received complete and quality medical care without delay.
