When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Malaria is a serious illness caused by a parasite that spreads through mosquito bites. It gives high fever, chills, sweating, body aches, and extreme tiredness. Enteric fever, also called typhoid, is a bacterial infection you can get from dirty water or food. It causes a long-lasting fever, stomach pain, headaches, and sometimes diarrhea or constipation. A urinary tract infection (UTI) happens when bacteria infect your urinary system. It causes a burning feeling when you pee, makes you want to pee often, and can cause pain in your lower stomach.

Background
Fatima Mohammed Abubakar is a lively and curious 4-year-old girl living with her parents and 9 siblings. Growing up in a bustling household, she is always surrounded by family, providing her with endless opportunities for play and learning. Fatima loves exploring the world around her, asking countless questions, and participating in her siblings' activities. Falmata Mohammed Abubakar began feeling unwell with a sudden fever and intense body aches. Her condition worsened as she experienced loss of appetite. She also complained to her mother of the pain she feels when urinating which her mother thought was a result of the burning sun. Her family grew increasingly concerned, until they came to Nakowa for medical help. She is diagnosed with Malaria, Enteric Fever, and Urinary Tract Infection.
Medical history
Fatima was admitted to Nakowa Hospital with symptoms of high fever, abdominal pain, and frequent urination. After diagnosis, she was found to be suffering from malaria, enteric fever, and a urinary tract infection (UTI). With the support of Helpster Charity, all her treatment expenses were fully covered. She received the necessary medications and care, and her condition improved steadily. Fatima has now fully recovered and returned home in stable health. Her family is grateful for the support that made her treatment possible.
Prognosis
If malaria, enteric fever, and a UTI are not treated urgently, the combination of these infections can lead to severe health complications. Untreated malaria can cause life-threatening issues like organ failure, severe anemia, and coma. Enteric fever, if left unchecked, can lead to intestinal damage, internal bleeding, and widespread infection. A UTI, if not treated, can spread to the kidneys, causing more serious infections and possible kidney damage. Together, these illnesses weaken the body significantly, making recovery difficult and potentially leading to long-term damage or even death.
