Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Rheemah Hospital

Background

Ivy is a 9-year-old girl living in a children’s home. As an orphan, she relies entirely on the support of well-wishers for her daily needs. She enjoys watching cartoons and listening to music. The matron of the home hopes to see her excel academically and eventually become a pilot. Recently, Ivy experienced frequent diarrhea, fever, and stomach pain. The matron suspected it might be a case of food poisoning, although other children who ate the same meal only experienced mild stomach discomfort.

Medical history

Ivy Wariga, a 9-year-old girl from a children’s home in Utawala, was taken to Rheemah Hospital with complaints of frequent loose stools, fever, and abdominal pain, initially suspected to be food poisoning. After evaluation by the medical officer in charge, she was diagnosed with amoebiasis and received appropriate treatment. All her medical costs were fully covered by Helpster Charity. The treatment was successful, and Ivy has since returned to school healthy, energetic, and thriving. We extend our sincere appreciation to Helpster Charity for their unwavering support.

Prognosis

Prognosis is good. Ivy upon arrival to Rehema Hospital had loose stool, diarrhea, stomach ache and fever. Timely medical treatment needs to be done so as to further complications like liver abscess and amoebic dysentery
