Azisat A., 14

Azisat is the last child of a family of 5 who lives together with his mother, father, and siblings in a room apartment built by her grandfather [family house]. The mother sells foodstuff, and the father is a driver; their monthly income is around 30,000 to 39,000 naira. Azisat is a good girl, and she loves reading, and meeting people, and her dream is to become a journalist. She was well until she developed severe abdominal pain in the right iliac fossa, and the pain refers to the umbilicus. She has been on antibiotics with analgesics on various occasions with little improvement. When they heard of Helpster, the child was brought to our facility for help. On examination, the child was diagnosed with acute Appendicitis.

Azisat was admitted on account of Acute Appendicitis which caused severed acute illness. The surgery was carried out as scheduled successfully with no recorded complications. The patient responded well to the surgery and the post operative management. Azisat was discharged with a stable state of health upon recovery. She is currently doing much better, no abdominal pains or fever, and he is actively playing with friends and family .

When the appendix ruptures, it releases bacteria into the abdomen, potentially leading to a serious infection called peritonitis, which can be life-threatening. An abscess, which is a pocket of infection, may also form. Treatment for appendicitis usually involves surgery to remove the appendix, a procedure known as an appendectomy.
