Lynne has not been feeding well for the past 2 days. She has had a bad cough and ends up vomiting after coughing, and she vomits whether she has been fed or not. The cough has been associated with difficulty in breathing and chest congestion. She has also been having a fever and is quite irritable. She was brought to the hospital looking quite ill and emaciated.

The caregiver also reported that she had experienced a runny nose for the past three days. Two laboratory tests were conducted—a full hemogram and a blood smear for malaria parasites—which led to a diagnosis of severe pneumonia and anemia, a condition where the blood's oxygen-carrying component is low. To manage her condition, she was nebulized to ease congestion and prescribed amoxicillin syrup (an antibiotic), folic acid to treat anemia, salbutamol, and paracetamol to reduce fever. A follow-up was scheduled for one week later. During her follow-up visit, she underwent a clinical examination and a repeat blood test, confirming that she had fully recovered.
