Muhammed is the eldest child in a family of five. They all live together in a two-room home. His mother is not employed, while his father works as a transporter, driving his car to earn their daily income. Muhammed is a primary six student who loves reading and dreams of becoming a lawyer. Recently, Muhammed has been experiencing abdominal pain in the right iliac fossa, which radiates to the umbilicus, along with fever and vomiting. Despite being treated with antibiotics and analgesics on various occasions, he has only seen slight improvement. When he came to our facility, he was examined and diagnosed with acute appendicitis, which requires urgent medical treatment.

An abscess, which is a pocket of infection, may also form.Treatment for appendicitis usually involves surgery to remove the appendix, a procedure known as an appendectomy.
