In addition to causing elevated body temperature, acute febrile illness can be accompanied by headaches, dizziness, sweats, chills, muscle pain, joint pain, and weakness. Sometimes it's also affiliated with respiratory symptoms like coughing or wheezing. Pneumonia is an infection that inflames the air sacs in one or both lungs. The air sacs may fill with fluid or pus (purulent material), causing cough with phlegm or pus, fever, chills, and difficulty breathing.

Background
Jaydah is a two month old boy who is the second born in the family. He seems to be the favorite of all the family members in the house since in the course of the interview, every person wanted to carry him. Jaydah's mother reports that he has been having a fever, reduced appetite and not breastfeeding well, nasal congestion and fast breathing. He had also been irritable the past few days.
Medical history
Jaydah's mother brought her child to the hospital, reporting that he had been having a fever, reduced appetite and not breastfeeding well, nasal congestion and fast breathing. He had also been irritable the past few days prior to being brought to the hospital. He was examined by the doctors and diagnosed with severe pneumonia. The doctors advised admission. While in the ward; Jaydah was given intravenous antibiotics, Saline nasal drops one drop each day for three days Jaydah progressed well to recovery
Prognosis
Pneumonia Left untreated, it can progress to other more serious and life-threatening conditions such as sepsis, septic shock, and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. If bacteria caused your pneumonia, they could get into your blood, especially if you didn't see a doctor for treatment. Complications. Children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years are at increased risk of a seizure that occurs during a fever (febrile seizure). About a third of the children who have one febrile seizure will have another one, most commonly within the next 12 months.
