Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Pendo is the third-born in her family. She lives with her grandmother and two siblings in a rural village where they often struggle to get food to eat, and her older siblings take a better part of school days at home since they are often sent home for lack of payment of school fees. She is an active and curious child who loves to scribble whenever she sees her siblings reading and writing. Pendo had been healthy since birth until three days ago when her mother noticed she was less active than usual. She developed symptoms including a runny nose, cough, and fever. As her condition worsened, her mother decided to take her to the hospital for medical care. Having heard about Helpster Charity before, she did not hesitate to take the child to hospital despite the fact that she had no money.

Medical history

Pendo Nafula was diagonised with severe malaria and pneumonia . The doctor advised that she had to be admitted so that he could monitor the progress of his health. After three days of being given antibiotics [Amoxyl, Al tabs and cetirizine] under Helpster Charity Organisation, she showed signs of improved and the doctor decided to discharge her for home bed rest as he advised the mother to administer the remaining antibiotics. The grandmother said, " My grandchild's condition had stressed me up and the fact that I didn't have any amount to pay the hospital bills felt like my granddaughter's life was coming to an end. I thank Helpster Charity Organisation for stepping in and helping me. I'm very happy because my daughter is now feeling well. Thank you Helpster."

Prognosis

Pendo Nafula was diagonised and treated on time but if the mother could have delayed to seek for medication, severe pneumonia and malaria ,being among the most common causes of death in infants, could lead to death within 24hours.
