3 months old Imrana Muhammed lives with his parents in a modest two-bedroom flat in Bauchi. He’s a happy baby who brings joy to his family with his smiles and giggles. Surrounded by love and care, Imrana is growing up in a peaceful and nurturing home. Two weeks ago, Imrana Muhammed developed a fever accompanied by a loss of appetite and refusal to breastfeed. His condition further worsened with difficulty in breathing, leading to serious health concerns. Prompt intervention was provided when he was brought to the hospital under the care of Helpster Charity, where he began receiving the necessary medical attention and support. Muhammed is diagnosed with malaria and enteric fever.

Imrana was diagnosed with malaria and enteric fever when he was rushed to our facility. Management commenced with injection antimalarials, injection antibiotics and other supportive care until diacharge. He did well, fever stopped as well as high body temperature. The family appreciates Helpster Charity for the medical support.

The prognosis for both malaria and enteric fever (typhoid fever) is generally good with prompt and effective treatment, but untreated cases as that of IMRANA MUHAMMAD can have serious complications and even be fatal. Malaria, particularly severe cases caused by Plasmodium falciparum, can lead to complications like cerebral malaria, severe anemia, and kidney failure. Enteric fever, if left untreated, can cause prolonged fever, intestinal bleeding, and even death.
