Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About infections
Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by Plasmodium parasites transmitted through the bite of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. It presents with fever, chills, headache, and body pains. Respiratory Tract Infections (RTIs), which affect the sinuses, throat, airways, or lungs, can be caused by viruses or bacteria and commonly present with cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing, and chest discomfort. Co-infection with malaria and RTI can complicate diagnosis and treatment, often worsening patient outcomes

Background
Zinatu is 1 year old girl and the last child among four children living with her parent in the slum of Bauchi. Despite all odds, her parent find joy in watching Zinatu smile. They hope she grow to be someone who can liberate the family from poverty. One evening, her mother noticed she was unusually quiet. Her skin felt warm, and she had a slight cough. By morning, the fever had climbed, and she had a runny nose. Each time Zinat is nursed, she would vomit shortly after. This post-meal vomiting, along with her fever and worsening cough, prompted her mother to rush her to Albishir Hospital for medical support. The child is diagnosed with malaria and respiratory tract infection. Family cannot afford to pay for medication.
Medical history
Zinatu was diagnosed with malaria and a respiratory tract infection (RTI) after falling seriously ill. She received timely and effective treatment at Albishir Hospital, where her condition steadily improved. Thanks to the generous support of Helpster Charity, all her medical bills were fully covered, allowing her to focus on healing without financial worry. Zinatu has since made a strong recovery and is now back home, healthy and hopeful for the future.
Prognosis
With early diagnosis and appropriate anti-malaria and anti-biotic treatment and supportive care, the prognosis is good in Zinatu's situation. Full recovery is expected if managed well, but delay in treatment could lead to life-threatening complications.
