Ashleyne is a fourteen-year-old girl from a modest and financially challenged family of seven. She is the fourth child, and her mother was recently discharged from the hospital. Ashleyne walks a long distance to attend a primary school where she is currently in Grade 9. She dreams of becoming a doctor so she can help the sick and underprivileged in her community. In addition to managing school assignments and daily rural chores like fetching firewood and water, she is an active member of the school girls’ football team and aspires to play at the national level one day. During one of her sports activities, Ashleyne sustained what initially appeared to be a minor injury. However, she soon began experiencing pain in her left leg. Her father took her to a local dispensary for treatment, while her mother was still admitted at a public health center. After being discharged, the mother took charge of seeking further medical care for Ashleyne, whose condition had now worsened—resulting in severe pain and difficulty walking. While still receiving her own treatment, the mother learned about Helpster Charity Organization. Due to their financial hardship, she reached out to the organization for support, as Ashleyne has been diagnosed with suspected Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), a condition that requires urgent intervention to prevent the blood clot from traveling to the lungs, which could lead to a life-threatening Pulmonary Embolism.

Today, thanks to Helpster Charity’s swift support, Ashleyne is recovering well. The pain has eased, her mobility is improving, and she’s regaining strength to pursue her dreams. With continued care, she’ll soon return to school and the football field.

Prognosis is good. The condition was diagnosed early enough. Cellulitis can lead to loss of a limb and can even be life-threatening.
