Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About malaria and lower respiratory tract infection
Malaria is a serious mosquito-borne disease causing fever, chills, and weakness, while lower respiratory tract infection affects the lungs, causing cough, fast breathing, and difficulty breathing. When combined, they can severely weaken the body, especially in young children, requiring urgent medical care.

Background
Yusuf is a bright and cheerful 5-month-old baby, the youngest of three children in his family. He lives with his parents and siblings in Bauchi, Nigeria. His parents, though struggling to make ends meet, are devoted to giving him and his siblings the best life they can. As the lastborn, Yusuf brings joy and hope to his family, lighting up their home with his innocent smiles and playful energy. Yusuf developed a high fever, stopped breastfeeding, and grew weak and restless. Soon, he began coughing badly and struggled to breathe, his small chest moving fast. His worried parents, with little money for help, turned to Helpster Charity, who helped them get Yusuf to the clinic. There, doctors diagnosed him with Malaria and a Lower Respiratory Tract Infection, providing the urgent care he needed.
Medical history
Yusuf came to Albisbir Hospital with fever, chills, and a persistent cough. He was diagnosed with Malaria and a Respiratory Tract Infection. Thanks to the support from Helpster Charity, he started treatment immediately. With the right medications and care, Yusuf’s health improved day by day, and he was soon well enough to return home fully recovered.
Prognosis
When malaria and LRTI occur together, the prognosis depends on how quickly treatment is given. With prompt medical care, most children recover well, though they may need close monitoring. Without treatment, the combined strain on the body can lead to severe complications, including respiratory failure, severe anemia, or even death, especially in infants and young children.
