Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About emergency care

A mild brain injury is a head injury that temporarily disrupts normal brain function. While usually not life-threatening, it's crucial to recognize to rule out life threatening factors. Bleeding from the ear after a road traffic accident could indicate a serious injury, especially if accompanied by other symptoms like dizziness, nausea, or loss of consciousness. It's crucial to seek immediate medical attention in such cases, as it may be a sign of a basilar skull fracture, ruptured eardrum, or other head trauma

Background

David is a 6-year-old boy who lives with his grandmother, and is occasionally cared for by a neighbor after being abandoned by both of his parents. His grandmother is old and frail and occassionally has to depend on well wishers to at least have a meal. David is currently in Grade 2 and dreams of becoming a teacher one day. On the morning of April 14, 2025, at around 8:00 AM, David was involved in a road traffic accident after being hit by a motorcycle. He was found at the side of the road, looking confused, with bruises on his head and bleeding from his right ear. Concerned bystanders rushed him to the nearest health facility, where he received initial treatment before being referred to New Elgon View Hospital for a head CT scan and further care.

Prognosis

Prognosis is good since the brain injury was mild, but tests ought be done to confirm that the child has no life threatening conditions from the accident.
