Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Bravick is a one-year-old boy from a family of two. After being abandoned by his mother, he has been under the care of his elderly grandmother. He is a cheerful and polite child, often seen smiling. Bravick had been unwell for nearly two weeks, experiencing vomiting and diarrhea. He was initially taken to a nearby clinic, but the treatment provided was unsuccessful. With the assistance of the area Community Health Volunteer, he was brought to the facility, where he underwent examination and received appropriate treatment. After being given medication and monitored for a period of time, he was discharged to continue his recovery at home.
Medical history
Bravick presented to the hospital with complaints of vomiting and diarrhea and abdominal pains. Investigations were done and he was diagnosed with gastroenteritis and malaria. Bravick was prescribed medications and was discharged to recover at home. The grandmother later, via a phone call, informed the health workers that Bravick had recovered well and had gone back to his normal life.
Prognosis
The child was brought to the facility with history of abdominal pain with several episodes of diarrhea for one day. He was weak and dehydrated and needed urgent intervention to replace the loss of electrolytes. Children tend to have weak immunity and if exposed to poor sanitation and untreated water, making them vulnerable to gastroenteritis. It normally treated with fluid replacement and antibiotics if necessary, depending on the cause. If left untreated or frequent infections can complicate to ulcers in the organs that bleed. The prognosis for malaria in children is variable and depends on factors like the malaria species, age, and access to treatment. While uncomplicated malaria has a good prognosis with full recovery especially in children under 5 years old, can be very dangerous and may lead to severe complications and death if not treated promptly and effectively.
