Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About gynecology

A complex ovarian cyst is a type of cyst on the ovary that contains both liquid and solid components, often requiring medical attention for further evaluation and potential treatment due to the increased risk of malignancy. The cyst can grow to cause discomfort or pain. Most ovarian cysts are noncancerous, but a small percentage of complex cysts are cancerous.

Background

Maryam a vivacious young girl, with a passion for cooking and farming. She also has a keen interest in creative arts. Her father is a commercial taxi driver but currently has no car, leaving her mother, uncle, and siblings as her primary sources of support, relying on farming and small-scale trade, particularly tailoring, to make ends meet. She has ambition to become a Nurse in the nearest future. Maryam is a 20-year-old lady, Over the past seven months, she has been experiencing ongoing abdominal swelling, lower abdominal discomfort, irregular menstruation, and occasional fever. In her pursuit of medical treatment, she previously sought care at another healthcare facility but was unable to cover the expenses due to her family's financial constraints. She was referred to UMD Medical clinic by their community leader who heard about Helpster when the volunteer visited their community during community outreach last year. She was evaluated and investigated at UMD and diagnosed with complex Ovarian cyst. Planned for Surgery upon approval by HELPSTER CHARITY.

Medical history

Maryam isa is 20 year old girl who lives with her mother(widow). She was evaluated for complex Ovarian cyst and admitted for surgery on 7th may, 2025.Had successful surgery, Post operative treatment and was virtually discharged home on 11th may, 2025.

Prognosis

Complex ovarian cysts can potentially grow larger, causing increased pain, discomfort, and pressure on surrounding organs. There is also a risk of rupture, which can lead to severe pain, internal bleeding, and infection. In some cases, complex cysts may be cancerous, and delayed treatment could allow the cancer to advance to a more advanced stage, reducing the chances of successful treatment. Surgery may involve removal of the cyst (cystectomy) or, in more severe cases, removal of the entire ovary (oophorectomy).
