If left untreated, it can result in severe complications such as recurrent ear infections that may cause hearing loss, chronic sleep apnea affecting cognitive development, and long-term respiratory issues that hinder a child's overall growth.

Background
Fima has been suffering from a sore throat and nose problems for three years, experiencing cold 5-6 times a month that disrupts her sleep and leaves her exhausted. Despite many doctor visits, medicine did not help, and surgery was recommended but unaffordable for her family. They live in a one-room tin shed on the outskirts of Jamalpur, where only her mother works as a cook earning 2500 taka per month, while her father is disabled. After learning about the Helpser Program, they applied for free treatment to give Fima the chance to recover. Your support can help provide the surgery she urgently needs to live a healthy life.
Medical history
Fima 10 years old girl came with the complaints of sore throat for 5 days, difficulty in deglutition for same duration, history of fever for 5 days ago and H/O tonsillitis several times in previous year , and admitted in this hospital on 21 April 2025 , then after proper examination and investigation she was diagnosed as chronic adenotonsillitis and was planned to treat surgically, after proper preanaesthetic check up her Adenotonsilectomy was done successfully on 21 April 2025 at night. Then she was kept in postoperative care and was shifted to her cabin bed . On 3 rd POD on 24 April 2025 she was discharged with appropriate medication and advice.
Prognosis
Dr. Kamrul Hasan diagnosed Fima with adenotonsillitis and initially prescribed medication to reduce her symptoms. However, he emphasized that surgery (adenotonsillectomy) is necessary to fully resolve the problem and prevent further complications. Without the surgery, Fima risks worsening breathing difficulties, recurrent infections, and potential long-term damage to her hearing and overall health.
