Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About infections
Pneumonia is an infection of one or both of the lungs caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi. It is a serious infection in which the air sacs fill with pus and other liquid. Malaria is a potentially life-threatening infectious disease caused by parasitic protozoa of the genus Plasmodium, transmitted through the bite of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. It is characterized by acute fever and flu-like symptoms, and if left untreated, can lead to severe complications, including death.

Background
Vincent is a 13-year-old boy, the third-born in a family of five. His mother, a widow with no stable income, is raising the family on her own. Vincent is an active and hardworking boy who enjoys playing football. He is dedicated to his studies and dreams of becoming a bank accountant. For nearly three weeks, Vincent had been experiencing chest pains and shortness of breath at night. His mother initially tried treating him with local herbs, but his condition did not improve. He was later taken to a local clinic, and eventually, a Community Health Promoter referred him to our health facility. There, he underwent a thorough examination, laboratory tests were conducted, and appropriate treatment was given.
Medical history
When Vincent was brought to the facility, he was exhibiting shortness of breath and had complaints of chest pains for over three weeks. His blood was drawn, and samples were taken to the lab, with results coming back that he had malaria and pneumonia. Vincent was given antimalarial medicine injection and prescribed more drugs for his pneumonia and was discharged to recuperate at home. During a routine follow up the mother reported that Vincent was fully recovered and had even resumed school.
Prognosis
Most people with pneumonia respond well to treatment, but pneumonia can cause serious lung and infection problems. It can even be deadly. The prognosis for malaria in children is highly variable, ranging from full recovery to severe complications and even death, especially in areas with high malaria transmission. Uncomplicated malaria generally has a good prognosis, while severe malaria, particularly due to Plasmodium falciparum, carries a high mortality rate
