Background
Jim is a dedicated 12-year-old girl living with his mother and sister in a small home provided by her grandparents after the tragic loss of her father to blood cancer three years ago. Despite the challenges her family faces, Jim remains focused on her studies and dreams of becoming a teacher one day. However, she has been suffering from a sore throat, nasal problems, allergies, and difficulties with breathing that hinder his ability to concentrate. After visiting the doctor, she was diagnosed with a condition requiring an adenotonsillectomy, but her family cannot afford the necessary treatment due to their precarious financial situation. They are financially supported by relatives but it is hardly enough to buy food. Jim and her mother are reaching out for support from generous donors to help provide Jim with the surgery she urgently needs to lead a healthier life and continue pursuing her dreams.
Medical history
Jim Jenifar 13 years old girl came with the complaints of sore throat for 7 days, difficulty in deglutition for same duration, history of fever for 8days ago and H/O tonsillitis several times in previous year , and admitted in this hospital on 24 May 2025 , then after proper examination and investigation she was diagnosed as chronic adenotonsillitis and was planned to treat surgically, after proper preanaesthetic check up her Adenotonsillectomy was done successfully on 24 May 2025 at night. Then she was kept in postoperative care and was shifted to her cabin bed. On 3rd POD on 27 May 2025 she was discharged with appropriate medication and advice.
Prognosis
The patient has been suffering from chronic adenotonsillitis for the past five years, experiencing persistent symptoms such as sore throat, difficulty swallowing, nasal congestion, and breathing problems, particularly during sleep. Given the duration and severity of the condition, surgery is urgently needed to remove the adenoids and tonsils to prevent further complications, including chronic respiratory issues and sleep apnea. If left untreated, the patient risks developing serious consequences such as recurrent ear infections and systemic infections that could affect overall health.
