Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Jibrin is a curious and energetic 3-year-old boy growing up in a low-income neighborhood of Bauchi, Nigeria. Despite limited resources, he brings joy to his family with his playful nature and bright smile. Jibrin spends his days exploring his surroundings and dreaming of a better future. Jibrin began with a high fever, chills, and sweating, leaving him weak and tired. Soon, he developed a cough, runny nose, and fast, shallow breathing. He became restless, refused to eat, and his condition worried his family as his symptoms worsened. His condition prompted the parent to seek medical support from Helpster Charity. On presentation at our hospital, he was evaluated and diagnosed with Malaria and Respiratory tract infection and requires urgent treatment.

Medical history

Jibrin came to Albisbir Hospital with fever, coughing, and general weakness. He was diagnosed with Malaria and a Respiratory Tract Infection. Thanks to the support from Helpster Charity, he received the right medications and care. Within a few days, his condition improved, and he recovered fully.

Prognosis

With prompt treatment, recovery is likely. Without treatment, the combined illness can lead to severe complications or death, especially in young children. Early care is critical.
