Background
Yunusa is an adolescent school boy who is very friendly and caring. He likes reading and playing football. His ambition is to become a nurse. The patient presented with 6days history of abdominal discomfort and loss of appetite, progressing to localized pain in the right lower quadrant with increased severity and tenderness. Associated symptoms include nausea, vomiting, fever, and abdominal guarding. He was diagnosed with Acute Appendicitis and was admitted for treated.
Medical history
Yunusa was admitted in our facility as a case of acute appendicitis. He had surgery done where the appendix was removed successfully. His postoperative care was good. He had proper wound care and appropriate antibiotics and other medications. He responded well to the care and was later discharged home to complete his recovery and continue with school. He was so happy for receiving help from helpster.
Prognosis
This case has a good prognosis, especially with urgent surgical intervention. Surgical removal of the inflamed appendix is the definitive treatment option for this patient. If left untreated, the appendix can rupture, leading to worsening pain, increased fever, and potentially life-threatening peritonitis, emphasizing the need for prompt intervention.
