Nashon is a twin and is described by his grandmother as an energetic and lively child who is constantly on the move. He enjoys playing with toys, especially cars and airplanes, and often mimics the sounds these machines make. Despite his playful nature, his grandmother notes that he is well-behaved, listens attentively to her instructions, and is both cheerful and intelligent. Over the past year, Nashon had been unwell. Although he was taken to the hospital and received treatment, his grandmother observed that he never fully recovered to his previous state of health. Recently, his condition worsened—he developed a fever and appeared very weak. In an attempt to manage his symptoms, his grandmother went to a local pharmacy to purchase pain relievers. However, upon seeing Nashon's condition, the pharmacist immediately urged her to rush him to the emergency room, warning that his situation was critical. It was at that point that she decided to take him to the hospital for urgent care.

Nashon was brought to the hospital weak and burning up. He was diagnosed with severe anemia; this warranted admission, and he was promptly admitted. He was transfused blood and treated on iron tablets to boost his blood production. He responded well to treatment, with his labwork showing an improvement of his blood volume as compared to when he was brought in. Nashon was eventually discharged on orals. A visit to their home by volunter revealed that Nashon was fully recovered and had gone back to his normal life.

Severe anemia, if left untreated, can be life-threatening, leading to complications like organ failure and death. However, with prompt diagnosis and appropriate treatment, many individuals can recover or manage the condition
