Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Jacob is a last born in the family of 13. The family is sustained by Jacob's father, who is a boda-boda rider (motorcycle taxi). During harsh economic times, people do not use the motorcycle and prefer to walk, so he does not get many customers. Jacob's mother owns a small kitchen garden which can barely sustain the whole family's meals. Jacob's siblings are in school, thanks to the government's funding. The family, however, struggles to put the food on the table. The mother has previously worked as a maize roaster, next to the road, but stopped after she got Jacob. She is planning to resume her job after Jacob reaches 1 year of age. She has big dreams for Jacob and says that this is her last born. She reports that the child cries alot before he passes urine. Jacob was admitted to the facility when he was presenting the following chief complains;cough, poor appetite, hotness of the body, nausea and constipation.

Medical history

Jacob was treated as an outpatient and came back to the hospital 3 days after, for check up. He confirmed to be recovering. The mother is still very grateful to Helpster Charity for the assistance.

Prognosis

The patient was diagnosed with urinary tract infection. The infection should be treated immediately, since it may spread onto kidneys, if left untreated. It will also keep causing pain and discomfort if the treatment is not received.
