Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Meshack is the youngest of four siblings, raised by his single mother who lives with her own mother after the children's father abandoned the family. According to his mother, Meshack developed a high fever accompanied by episodes of vomiting and diarrhea. Initially, she assumed he was experiencing a common childhood illness that would pass. However, when the symptoms persisted for three days without improvement, she decided to seek medical attention. At the hospital, the doctors suggested that Meshack's condition may have been caused by consuming contaminated food.

Medical history

Meshack was brought to the hospital exhibiting fever and suffering from episodes of vomiting and diarrhea. He was daignosed with food poisoning. Being of young age and having lots of fluids, he was admitted for further management. He was treated, and he responded well to treatment. Mesack was later discharged on orals, and the mother was counselled on hygienic methods of preparing food. A call by the volunteer to Mesahck's mother confirmed that Meshack was fully recovered, was feeding well and was playful.

Prognosis

Prognosis is good. The child was brought to hospital before the severe dehydration took a toll on him . He had had several episodes of diarrhoea and vomiting and was unable to retain anything orally, but with proper care and intravenous fluids will progress well
