Samuel, the eldest child in his family, has a younger sibling and is being raised by parents who earn a living through casual labor. Despite their modest means, Samuel is known for his cheerful demeanor and confidence, which sets him apart from many of his peers. A passionate football fan, he supports Manchester United just like his father, and dreams of becoming an engineer one day. His father works hard to provide for the family by engaging in manual jobs like farm labor. Samuel had been in good health until he began complaining of a headache. Although the headache was initially managed with over the counter anaelgesics, he soon developed additional symptoms, including a loss of appetite, episodes of vomiting, fever, and chills. On the day his condition worsened, both parents were away seeking work. A concerned neighbor who came looking for the family found Samuel trembling despite the warm weather and noticed vomit stains on his clothes. Alarmed, the neighbor rushed him to the hospital before reaching out to inform the parents.

Samuel was brought to the hospital with complaints of fever, loss of appetite and vomiting.His labworks revealed he was suffering from severe malaria, this warranted Admission. He stayed in the ward for a couple of days, while in the ward he was administered IV Artesunate, ceftriaxone, gentamicin among other drugs. He was tolerant to the medical and he was eventually discharged on orals. His parents later revealed he had fully recovered and had gone back to school

The prognosis for malaria in children is highly variable, ranging from full recovery to severe complications and even death, especially in areas with high malaria transmission. Uncomplicated malaria generally has a good prognosis, while severe malaria, particularly due to Plasmodium falciparum, carries a high mortality rate, especially in children under 5. The patient was brought to the hospital on time with the immediate management he received he is bound to make a full recovery.
