Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Zipporah is a 3 y.o. girl who was brought to the hospital when she was severely malnourished. The mother reports that life has been very tough and at times they have to survive without food. Zipporah stays with her seven other siblings and her mother who works as a hair dresser; she has to work to get food, and at times does not have any customers. On such days they live without food.
Medical history
Zipporah and her brother Esau were both admitted in the hospital to be treated for protein energy malnutrition and anaemia. Zipporah was put on nutritional supplements as an in-patient and tests were done to confirm that there is no superimposing infection that may affect the child. She was also put on treatment for anaemia.
Prognosis
The child is severely malnourished and if not assisted fast. When the body does not receive enough food, it starts converting the fat and muscle tissues into nutrients in order to function. In such a state, the child's defence systems are weak, making her extremely vulnerable to various infections. The medical treatment is of utmost importance to save her life.
