Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About infections

Pneumonia develops when the defensive mechanisms within the lung become overwhelmed by a pathogen which has been either inhaled or aspirated. It is associated with a high mortality rate and significant morbidity. Severe pneumonia is frequently a multisystem disease and patients will often present with multiple organ failure.

Background

Ashley is a 4 y.o. child, who is in kindergarten. When she grows up, she would like to be an air hostess and fly to different countries in the world. She would like to take her parents on the flight, too. She is her parents' 3rd born. Ashley's mother is a housewife and the father is employed at a local shop as a shop keeper. They are able to afford at least one meal in a day. Ashley likes playing with the few chicken that they rear at home and has given a name to each of the chicks. She fell ill 2 days ago and the father gave her pain killers and Septrin but there has been no improvement.

Medical history

Ashley was brought to the hospital with abdominal pain and pain on swallowing; tests were run and child was put on oral medication. She was reviewed a few days after and confirmed to have been well.

Prognosis

Child's life will be moderately changed if treatment is initiated early enough so the illness doesn't progress further to severe pneumonia, that may cause lung damage and other complications. Ashley needs to be treated with antibiotics, and supplemented with vitamins to strengthen the immune system.
