Ibrahim is the 2nd child of the family of 5, he is 8years old, Ibrahim is in primary 2 and he likes playing football and his dreams is to be police officer. His both parents are not together, his mother sells herbs in in the market and also do cleaning work for individual in the area and her income per month is #25,000. The swelling was noticed 5 years ago, and it has been increasing in size with occasional pain. On presentation to our hospital, she was diagnosed with Hydrocele.

Ibrahim underwent hydrocelectomy for the treatment of a hydrocele. The surgery was successful with an excellent prognosis. He has since been discharged and is now home, living a healthier and better quality of life.

The persistent presence of a hydrocele can cause ongoing discomfort, heaviness, or a feeling of fullness in the scrotum. Although hydroceles are not typically associated with infections, untreated ones may become prone to infections, which can result in pain and complications. Larger hydroceles can interfere with activities like walking or participating in sports due to the added weight and size of the swollen scrotum. Surgical removal of the hydrocele sac is the most effective and permanent treatment for hydrocele. It is typically performed as an outpatient procedure under local or general anesthesia. The surgeon makes a small incision in the scrotum, drains the fluid, and removes the sac.
