Abigael is a lastborn in the family of 9.she stays with her family in machakha near webuye west technical training institute.She likes watching TV especially cartoon programs,also likes to play with toys at home, their family access drinking water from unprotected well water that can walk a distance of less than 30 minutes,they don't have utensil rack ,use pit latrine and they stay in a one bedroom house that has corrugated iron sheets it's wall have used mud and they use cow dung to beautify the floor and also use lighting paraffin lamp
Medical history
Abigael was admitted to the hospital for treatment due to protein-energy malnutrition and anemia. As an in-patient, she received nutritional supplements, along with tests to rule out any additional infections that could impact her health. Treatment for anemia was also initiated. Initially, Abigael's mother sought treatment for her at a nearby clinic, but the expenses exceeded the family's expectations. Despite the costly treatment, Abigael's condition worsened, prompting the decision to transfer her to Bokoli Sub County Hospital for further care. It was during this critical time that Helpster stepped in to assist the family with covering the hospital fees until Abigael's condition stabilized. The mother of the child was overjoyed at her daughter's discharge from the hospital. Witnessing Abigael regain her vibrant demeanor during her hospitalization brought immense relief, especially considering her initial loss of vitality due to malnutrition. The mother expressed gratitude that this challenging chapter was now behind them. She affirmed her commitment to following the nutritionist's advice diligently, intending to seek out affordable protein-rich products to ensure her child remains well-nourished and healthy in the future.
Prognosis
The patient was brought to our facility with vomiting, diarrhoea, general body weakness and poor appetite. The patient was diagnosed of gastroenteritis, severe malaria, dehydration. If not treated, it can lead to further complications.
