Moses M., 20

Moses is a 20-year-old boy and the second born in a family of six. At his age, he should be in second or third year of college, yet he is currently in Form 3, as frequent illnesses have caused him to miss many school days, delaying his education. He dreams of becoming a nurse one day. Moses lives with his family in a modest two-room house, and they share a pit latrine with neighbors. The family depends entirely on his mother, who practices small-scale farming and sells the produce to provide for their basic needs. Their only source of drinking water is a nearby well. Moses is a known sickle cell warrior who came in for a routine clinic visit after missing his follow-ups for the last four months. He shared that he has been unwell during this period, experiencing recurrent joint pains, especially in his lower back and knees, which he tried to manage with rest and hydration at home. Last week, he also suffered from fatigue and dizziness, forcing him to miss more school. Moses has a history of chronically low hemoglobin levels but is unable to consistently take his supplements or maintain a balanced diet due to financial constraints. Over the past six months, he has been hospitalized twice because of severe sickle cell crises.

Moses was diagnosed with low blood level being a known sickle cell worrier,he was given sickle cell drugs and given other support he needed until he was better.He was not even able to buy painkillers but from no where Helpster came in to help him get better free medical treatment.

He was treated and given drugs as needed and if this intervention could have not been done on time it could have resulted to organ damage, pain, and increased risk of infection.
