Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About infections
Pneumonia develops when the defensive mechanisms within the lung become overwhelmed by a pathogen which has been either inhaled or aspirated. It is associated with a high mortality rate and significant morbidity. Severe pneumonia is frequently a multisystem disease and patients will often present with multiple organ failure.

Background
Marion is the only child in her family. She goes to a primary school and dreams of becoming a doctor when she grows up. Marion lives with her family, which is a small and young family with only three people. She has already started going to school and is always excited about it. Sometimes, she even wakes up early to get ready for school before everyone else.
Medical history
Marion presented to the hospital with a fever, nasal congestion and cough. She also had loss of appetite for the past 5 days. She was treated as an outpatient. A follow up a few days later found her doing well. She was also brought back for check up after completing the dose of her medication and she was running round the hospital, very happy. Her mother is grateful to Helpster Charity.
Prognosis
Pneumonia should be treated with antibiotics. If left untreated, pneumonia may lead to the permanent lung damage, respiratory failure, septicaemia (infection entering blood stream and causing sepsis), pleural effusion (accumulation of fluid in the space between the lung and chest wall, which can make breathing difficult), and other life-threatening complications.
