Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About gynecology

A complex ovarian cyst is a type of cyst on the ovary that contains both liquid and solid components, often requiring medical attention for further evaluation and potential treatment due to the increased risk of malignancy. The cyst can grow to cause discomfort or pain. Most ovarian cysts are noncancerous, but a small percentage of complex cysts are cancerous.

Background

Hauwa is a twenty-one-year-old cheerful teenager who is actively involved in creative art activities to make ends meet. She loves cooking and dancing. She also dreams of becoming a nurse in the future. A damsel girl who was apparently well, until six (6) months ago she developed progressive abdominal swelling and pain which gradually got worse, but her family did not have enough money to send her for treatment. Hence rushed to UMD Medical Clinic upon hearing about Helpster heroes to benefit from the free treatment. On presentation at our facility, she was evaluated and diagnosed with a complex ovarian cyst in need of surgery.

Medical history

A 21 year old poor lady but involve in hat making bussiness to support their family financial needs, was presented to UMD Medical clinic with the history of progressive abdominal swelling, menstrual irregularity and pains in the abdomen.Had run some preliminary investigations and she was diagnosed with huge Ovarian cyst. She was subjected to surgery.Had successful surgery,Post operative treatment and was finally discharged home. The family and UMD surgical team are happy.

Prognosis

Complex ovarian cysts can potentially grow larger, causing increased pain, discomfort, and pressure on surrounding organs. There is also a risk of rupture, which can lead to severe pain, internal bleeding, and infection. In some cases, complex cysts may be cancerous, and delayed treatment could allow the cancer to advance to a more advanced stage, reducing the chances of successful treatment. Surgery may involve removal of the cyst (cystectomy) or, in more severe cases, removal of the entire ovary (oophorectomy).
