When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Tisha Das is a tiny, fragile 2-month-old baby girl born prematurely, weighing only 1500 grams. Her family lives in a remote village, with her grandfather Nil Madob, who is 55 and has no work, and her grandmother Parul Das, a housewife. Her father Ridoy Das is 26 and works as a pickup driver on a daily basis, and gets around 7000 taka per month, while her mother Payel Das is only 16 and stays at home. They also have a 1-month-old baby boy. Her uncle Robi Das, 27, works in a Modi shop, and her aunt Joyonti, 17, is a housewife with their baby boy. Her family cannot afford the urgent Anti-VEGF injection needed to save her from blindness, even though her life depends on it. Without this treatment, Tisha risks losing her sight forever, missing out on the world she has just entered and the bright future she deserves. Her parents are heartbroken and helpless, praying for help to give their precious daughter a chance to see and live a full life.
Medical history
Tisha Das, a 1-month-old baby, needed urgent treatment for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) in both eyes to prevent the risk of permanent vision loss. She was treated with Anti-VEGF injections by Dr. Md Saiful Islam, the hospital’s ROP Specialist. The treatment has been effective, with abnormal blood vessel growth now under control and the retinal condition showing clear improvement. With regular follow-up, there is strong hope that Tisha will be able to see clearly in the future. Prognosis
Tisha, a 2-month-old premature infant, was diagnosed with Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) in both eyes, specifically in Stage 1 Zone 3 with plus disease. ROP is a serious eye disorder that affects premature babies and can lead to blindness if untreated. In Tisha’s case, the abnormal blood vessel growth in the retina was progressing, which called for immediate intervention. The treatment plan involved administering a single dose of anti-VEGF (Avastin) injection in both eyes to inhibit the growth of these abnormal vessels and prevent retinal damage or detachment.
