She is a 4-year old gentle girl who likes playing with toys. She is yet to be enrolled in school but lives in with her parents. Hauwa presented with a 2-day history of high-grade fever, vomiting, cough, and general body weakness. Her parents reported a significant decrease in her activity level and appetite but they did not have money to take her to the hospital. On presentation at our hospital, she was evaluated and diagnosed with Malaria and Bronchopneumonia.

Hauwa was admitted in our facility with complaints high-grade fever, vomiting, cough and generalized body weakness. After proper evaluation, she was diagnosed with Malaria with bronchopneumonia. She had her complete dosages of Antimalarials, Antibiotics and analgesics. She was also rehydrated with IV fluids. As the treatment progressed, she responded well as evidenced by resolving of her admitting symptoms. She was then discharged home with oral medications following the improvement of her condition.

Hauwa is suffering from Malaria and Bronchopneumonia despite being a very serious disease is treatable effectively especially when treated early with the appropriate antimalarials and other supplements. However, when left untreated it has the ability to cause severe complications like cerebral malaria, and sometimes even death.
