Peter Karanja is a 3-year-old boy living with his mother. He is the youngest of six children. His father is an alcoholic who is often absent for months at a time without any communication. As a result, Peter’s mother relies on doing casual jobs in the neighborhood to provide for her children. Peter has a history of recurrent hospital visits due to adenoid and tonsillar hypertrophy. He was recently brought to the hospital with symptoms including chest tightness, snoring, difficulty in breathing, and refusal to eat. He was diagnosed with septic tonsillitis and admitted for treatment. He is scheduled to undergo an adenotonsillectomy later this month.

Peter Karanja was brought to the hospital on 3/6/2025. He was brought having complains of difficulty in breathing, chest tightness, he was also sick looking febrile. He had received multiple treatment in different hospitals after investigation he was diagnosed with pneumonia, tonsillitis and acute bronchitis. We therefore, managed him for for these diseases but we were also planning to conduct Adenotonsillectomy. Kindly assist with funding his surgical cost of Adenotonsillectomy.

Septic tonsillitis, a severe complication of tonsillitis, can lead to systemic infections and potentially life-threatening conditions. The most common complication is a peritonsillar abscess, which can lead to septicemia, or blood poisoning, if not treated promptly. Other effects include rheumatic fever, inflammation of the kidneys, and poststreptococcal reactive arthritis.
