Background

A very vibrant. Child with great prospect becoming someone great in the future. His parent is dead; he lives with an Aunt in the village but suffered neglect and was sent to one of his brothers. Currently squatting with his brother in a friend's house. His brother is 20years and an apprentice learning tailoring work, however there is no steady income. His older sister is not working. This boy hv been a known seizure patient from infant but due to the death of their parents he was left in care of an aunt who has been treating him traditionally but no great improvement, he is still in primary 4 due to being in and out of school due to the severity of the seizures which hv left him with so much bruises on his body. On presentation at our hospital, he was evaluated and diagnosed with Seizure disorder, Pneumonia, and multiple bodily wounds on his body due to the falls from the seizure. He was admitted for urgent care.

Medical history

The patient was brought in with a case of seizure and 5day lasting fever which continued after treatment of thyphoid and malaria,then injection was given to him to which calm the seizure,after examination he was diagnosed with seizure from childhood with pneumonia,which was then treated

Prognosis

The child will benefit a lot if put on routine drugs to help control the rate of occurrence of the epileptic seizures and be treated from the pneumonia and improve the overall well being of the child and his academic performance,if his case in put under control
