Background
A 11 years old Orphan who lost her father to the cold hands of death 5 years ago after protracted illness.She lives with her aunt around old airport. She is an introvert personality, she likes hat making and aspires to becoming a teacher. History of Oliguria, dysuria, hematuria and lower back pain for the past 2 months, pain subsides after she took some pain killers. Currently, she was at school this morning when she started feeling chronic pain around her lower abdomen and back pain and quickly rushed to our health facility for treatment. On presentation at our facility, she was evaluated and diagnosed with Bladder Stone.
Medical history
Khadija is a an 11 year old girl who was presented to this facility with the complaints of Oliguria,dysuria,lower abdominal pain and restlessness due to bladder outlet obstruction.Radiological examination findings indicates bladder stone.she was catheterized and planned for elective surgery.Had a successful Cystolithotomy and was discharged on 31/7/2025.Patient is now stable and feeling well.
Prognosis
Treatment of larger bladder stones may require procedures such as lithotripsy (breaking the stones into smaller pieces using sound waves) or surgical removal. Additionally, measures to prevent the recurrence of bladder stones may include dietary changes, increased fluid intake, and addressing underlying conditions that contribute to stone formation.
