Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About nervous system
Umbilical hernia is a swelling that can be seen at the umbilicus, or the belly button. It occurs when there is a defect and failure to close a part of the abdominal wall at the umbilical region, thus allowing fluid and parts of the intestine to push through the defect. Hernias should be repaired and closed by surgery.

She is extroverted, thus likes mingling and playing with friends, living with his parents at bulunkutu sallake of Maiduguri and also have dream to become an entrepreneur when she grew up. About a year after birth, he developed umbilical bulge lingering for more than 1 year that failed to reduce. There is usually a localized pain around the umbilicus with preceding history of vomiting. He was examined and diagnosed with Symptomatic Umbilical Hernia and was planned for repair upon approval by Helpster charity.
Medical history
Khadija idris, a 4-year-old female, presented with a 8-month history of umbilical bulge accompanied by pain. After thorough evaluation and investigation, she was diagnosed with umbilical hernia. She underwent successful hernial repair surgery without immediate complications. Due to the nature of her condition, she was admitted for 3 days for close monitoring and post-operative care. Khadija recovered well and was discharged home after 3 days, with a follow-up appointment scheduled for 1 week. Currently, she is doing well, has fully recovered, and has resumed her regular activities. We appreciate the timely intervention by Helpster and the UMD Medical team.
Prognosis
Without intervention, the hernia may continue to grow in size, causing increased discomfort, pain, and a noticeable bulge at the umbilicus. In severe cases, the protruding tissue can become trapped or strangulated, which is a medical emergency. Strangulation occurs when the blood supply to the herniated tissue is compromised, leading to severe pain, nausea, vomiting, and possible tissue damage or necrosis. Prompt surgical repair is typically recommended for umbilical hernias to prevent these complications and ensure the safety and well-being of the affected individual.
