Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Yusuf is 13-year-old cheerful boy whose parent are poor. His father is a bricklayer while his mom involves in small business and petty trading to make ends meet. He loves playing soccer and have dream to become a lawyer when he grows up. He is apparently well until 5 months ago when he started feeling right flank pain, Lower back and abdominal pain with difficulty in passing urine. He was taken to a different facility to sought for treatment. The doctors examined him, and he was diagnosed with kidney stone but don't have enough money to pay for his medical bills hence he was referred to UMD Medical Clinic by the volunteer. He requires urgent surgery to avert complications such as obstructive uropathy and permanent kidney damage. X-ray showed Right Kidney Stone.

Medical history

Mohd yusuf, a 13-year-old male, was referred to our facility with a right kidney stone. After thorough evaluation and investigation, he underwent elective right nephrolithotomy. The surgery was successful without immediate complications. Due to the nature of his condition, he was admitted for 5 days for close monitoring and treatment. The patient recovered well and was discharged home after 5 days, with follow-up care scheduled for 1 week. Currently, the child is doing well, has recovered, and has resumed regular activities at home.

Prognosis

Larger stones might require more extensive treatment like using sound waves to break up the stone (lithotripsy), surgery to remove very large stones, or using a scope passed through the bladder to remove smaller stones. Stones can cause recurrent UTIs, which may become chronic and can lead to more serious kidney infections.
